When can I move in?

If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime.

How much notice needs to be given when I move out?

We require a 14 day written notice before you move out. Our staff will go over that process at the time of signing.

What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?

All you need is a government issued form of ID (example: driver’s license, state ID, or passport)

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

No, we rent on a month to month basis unless the customer requests otherwise. However, we offer discounts for customers who sign a lease for a year or longer.

What about insurance?

We offer insurance through SafeStor Tenant Insurance for storage units.  We require proof of insurance for vehicles that are stored in parking spaces. 

Does someone have to be in the office to let me through the security gates?

No. We offer a separate set of hours for accessing your storage units.

How do I make a payment?

You can either pay in person, through the mail, or on our website. You may also sign up on the phone to have the payment automatically deducted from your credit card/savings/checking account monthly.

What forms of payments do you accept?

Checks, cash, money orders, and all major credit cards.

Do you sell boxes and storage supplies?

Yes, here at Mint Hill Self Storage we have boxes and all your storage supplies.

How do I know how much storage space I will need?

You can either use our Space Estimator on our website or call the manager for assistance at the location you are looking to rent and they will be able to assist you.

Can I just stop by to view the facility and storage spaces? Or do I need an appointment?

Stop by anytime between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm Monday – Friday. The office is closed on Saturdays & Sundays.

Do I need to bring my own lock?

Disc locks are available for purchase at the office or you can bring your own lock.  We highly recommend using a disc style lock for better protection.

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions about a specific item.

Do you have handcarts and dollies available at your facility?

We do not since all of our units are drive-up.
